A work corner that does not take over your home
Choose a place to work and give the space back when the day ends.

Working from home does not always mean having a spare room. A desk may share the dining table or occupy a bedroom corner.
Choose around everyday use
Try the screen position and check what would appear behind you on a call. Notice reflections, noise, and people passing through. If you share the home, discuss the times when fewer interruptions would help.
Measure the space a chair needs to move, not just the desktop. A table can fit between two pieces of furniture and still make sitting down or standing up awkward.
Simplify setup
Keep work items together in a tray, box, or drawer. If you need to put everything away each evening, fewer steps make the routine easier to maintain.
You do not need to buy everything before trying the spot. Use what you have for a few days and note the specific problem that needs solving. You may need a wider surface rather than an entire shelving unit.
Give the day an ending
When the area serves another purpose, allow a few minutes to clear it. Put papers away, move equipment, and prepare for the next activity.
The aim is not to pretend work disappears. It is to stop every meal or quiet moment from beginning with a pile of unfinished tasks.
